BCORMA Legacy Fund

In 2012, the BCORMA Legacy Fund was seeded with $25,000 from our friend Barry Groundwater.

Big changes are on the horizon in BC, involving complex issues that will affect your ability to ride off-road. It is vital that off-road motorcyclists in British Columbia continue to be represented during this high-level decision making process.

Working on policy reform and legislation issues with Ministers and Parlimentary Secretary requires staff and volunteer time and resources.

Recent motorcycle industry funding cuts jeopardize our ability to respond to these issues. BCORMA needs the help of the off-road riding community to continue getting into these closed-door government meetings, and give input on these initiatives with the people who make decisions that affect our ability to ride.

It is vital that BCORMA continues to contribute to policy development and reform, input and adjudication of funding applications that directly serve our community.

It is also important that we continue to work with:

  • The Ministry of Water, Land and and Resource Stewardship

  • Outdoor Recreation Council of BC (ORCBC)

  • Our ATV and snowmobile partners at the BC Power Sports Coalition

  • Recreation Sites & Trails - Ministry of Environment

Barry was a BCORMA member, life long dirt biker and sledder from Squamish. When Barry passed away in 2012 he left $25,000 to ensure BCORMA would continue to have a seat at the governmental table. Barry believed in the importance of a province-wide voice for off-road motorcycles.

Your financial support allows us to continue to advocate for continued access to the riding areas and trail networks that we have come to take for granted, but which is no longer the case. That access is being challenged every day.
